CONFIRMATION RETREAT OPTIONS FOR
ST. STEPHEN’S CONFIRMATION CANDIDATES

 

RETREAT REQUIREMENT

Each Confirmation candidate is required to participate in a weekend Confirmation retreat sometime before the May 19, 2012 celebration of Confirmation.  The purpose for this requirement is to assure each candidate a personal and prayerful time for conversation with God, a time to pray, a time to “re-treat” from normal events, and a time to ponder their faith.

 

Where are Retreats?  When are Retreats? 

The Church of St. Stephen recommends four retreat sites as you choose your retreat.  Each retreat option offers varying styles, settings and interaction for your retreat.  Review online descriptions well.  Each retreat group offers a variety of weekend dates.  The four retreat sites suggested are:

IMPORTANT TO CONSIDER

Choose a retreat date and register early… don’t wait until the last minute to sign up for a retreat! Remember, if your retreat requirement is not completed by May 19, 2012, you are choosing to postpone the celebration of Confirmation until all requirements are met. GETTING SIGNED UP

 

1.  Check your calendar to sign up for a Confirmation Retreat.

Confirmation candidates and their parents/guardians should check the calendar and consider family events, school and extracurricular commitments. 

2.  Confirmation students choose their retreat and obtain the registration forms.  

3.  Fill out the required forms and send in the required fees to the retreat organization.

All retreat information can be accessed online.  There are some forms and literature in the pamphlet rack outside The Refuge, which is the youth room at St. Stephen's.

4.  ENJOY YOUR CONFIRMATION RETREAT!  Some specific description points about each site are noted below.

Central Minnesota TEC

Together Encountering Christ

 

Central Minnesota TEC is a 3 day retreat weekend based on the Paschal Mystery, the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.  Central MN TEC has both teen and adult participants on the weekends.   Youth must be 17 years old or have completed their sophomore year of high school. Because this is a high-energy retreat experience, it is recommended for the safety of our youth, that parents or other responsible guardians drive students to Belle Prairie and pick them up after the retreat concludes.  There are both students and adults attending these retreats.

 

The retreats are held on the grounds next to Holy Family Parish, Belle Prairie, MN, just north of Little Falls on Highway 371.  The retreats start at 10:00 a.m. on the first day and end at around 6:00 p.m. on the last day.   The cost of this weekend retreat is $75.00.

Dunrovin Senior High Retreats

 

Dunrovin, a Christian Brothers’ Retreat and Conference Center, is located 9 miles north of Stillwater, MN on MN Highway 95.  Dunrovin’s 50 acres provide an ideal setting for reflection and spiritual renewal.  Dunrovin’s mission is to “empower, provide, and celebrate the discovery and growth of Christian beliefs and values in youth.” 

 

Dunrovin Center provides individual accommodations for 40 persons.  Each room is simply and comfortably furnished.  Retreats begin Friday evening at 7:30 p.m. and conclude on Sunday at 1:30 p.m.  Our parish has a limit of 4 parishioners per retreat date—2 young women and 2 young men.  Register EARLY if interested!  The cost of this weekend retreat is $135.00.

Twin Cities TEC

TO ENCOUNTER CHRIST

 

Twin Cities TEC is a 3 day retreat for baptized Christians desiring to grow in their faith.  TEC provides an opportunity to learn more about the beliefs of the Catholic faith, build friendships with other Christians, and take practical steps to develop a deeper relationship with Christ.   All retreats start at 9:30 a.m. on the first day and end at 4:45 p.m. on the third day.  Participants must be able to attend all 3 days of the retreat.  This retreat is also open to adults, as well as youth, though the retreat is designed for the 16-17 year old.

   

Twin Cities TEC weekend retreats will be held at Nativity of Mary Catholic Church, 9900 Lyndale Avenue South, Bloomington, MN  55420. This facility offers lodging/meals space in the school building.  The retreat meeting space is the Conference Room, or old church.  The cost of this weekend retreat is $150.00.

NET Ministries Confirmation Retreats

 

NET Ministries Confirmation retreats “challenge young Catholics to love Christ and embrace the life of the Church.”  These retreats begin Friday evening at 7:00 p.m. and end at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday.  NET Ministries weekend retreats are located at:   The Net Center, 110 Crusader Ave. W, West St. Paul, 55118.  The cost of this weekend retreat is $145.00.
