Program Descriptions
Sunday School Formation for Ages 3 ½ - Grade 1
Sunday School meets on Sunday morning during the 9:30 am and 11:15 am Masses. The program is designed to introduce children to our Catholic Faith by using Sunday gospel stories, music and activities. Children meet in small groups of 8 for approximately 20 weeks.
Evening Faith Formation for Grades 2 – 8
Grade 2 – 8 students meet in small groups of 6 for 12 weeks to explore their faith through compelling stories and scripture, along with activities, prayers and seasonal celebrations. This program meets from 6:15 – 7:30 pm on Tuesday or Wednesday for 2nd – 8th grade, with an additional option for 2nd – 4th grade on Wednesday at 4:30 – 5:45 pm. The 2nd – 4th graders meet one week, and then 5th – 8th graders meet the next. This alternating schedule gives families the opportunity to work together at home the weeks children are not in class on campus.
High School Small Group Faith Formation
Students gather in small groups at the catechists’ home for faith sharing, fun and fellowship. They meet approximately 10 times during the months of September through May. They also participate in 1 service project and one retreat together. Students are also required to attend large group events with a parent/guardian. Students in 11th or 12th grade planning to celebrate the Sacrament of Confirmation must participate in this faith formation program because the curriculum includes Confirmation theology.
High School Teens in Action Faith Formation
Small groups of 9th and 10th grade students gather in homes with a catechist for faith sharing, fun and fellowship. They meet approximately 10 times throughout the year to participate in service projects and small group lessons. The curriculum content is centered on justice and service topics. Students also attend large group sessions with a parent/guardian and attend 1 retreat.
Faith at Home Faith Formation (FAH)
FAH has components for children in Kindergarten through 10th grade. This program gives parents the opportunity to create a faith filled learning experience in their home with a schedule that compliments other family activities. Families purchase user friendly curriculum and staff support is given when needed.
Sacrament Programs
Sacrament programs require 1.) Parish membership and 2.) Enrollment and participation in faith formation programming. First Eucharist and First Reconciliation offer parish-support events for students and parents, as well as time to work on a sacrament book at home! Confirmation offers our high-school students large group events, ritual and prayer experience, and retreat a weekend. Students will have the opportunity to form relationship with their sponsor.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does my child have to be registered in one of the Faith Formation programs in order to celebrate a sacrament?
Yes, sacrament preparation programs are entirely separate from Faith Formation programs. Your child must be registered in Faith Formation or attend a Catholic school in order to celebrate First Eucharist or First Reconciliation.
Confirmation preparation is a 3 year commitment. A student is required to be enrolled in a Faith Formation program or attend a Catholic high school in 9th and 10th grade. The final year of preparation requires a student to be in a High School Small Group Faith Formation program.
Is there a separate registration process for sacraments?
Yes. Registration forms will be distributed at the first parent session for each sacrament.
When does sacrament preparation begin?
First Reconciliation and Confirmation begin in the fall and First Eucharist begins in January.
In what grades are sacraments celebrated?
First Eucharist is usually celebrated in 2nd or 3rd grade and First Reconciliation in 4th or 5th grade. Confirmation is a three year process beginning in 9th grade with the actual celebration of the sacrament in 11th grade.
The actual First Reconciliation celebration takes place in the fall; First Communion and Confirmation take place in the spring.
Can my child be placed with a friend, or request a catechist or a small group?
We do our best to honor requests, but there are many factors that are taken into consideration. Call the program coordinator for further information.
How will I find out what day, time and group my child is in?
You will be notified of your child’s placement after catechist training in the fall approximately 2 weeks prior to the program start date.
What happens if the session/small group I want is filled?
If your first choice for a session time/date is filled, you will be given your second choice. If you do not indicate a second choice, you will not receive a call and your child will be placed on a waiting list.
The Faith at Home program is an excellent opportunity for families with scheduling concerns.
Where does my tuition fee go?
Your tuition contributes to books, teaching materials, guest speakers, and other operating expenses. Parish stewardship also subsidizes these expenses.
There are NO fees for First Eucharist, First Reconciliation and Confirmation preparation because of your generous contributions to parish stewardship.
Once we register, am I able to switch days or groups/programs?
Yes, if there is space available. After the program has begun there will be a $10.00 re-processing fee per change.
What if I am unable to pay?
We can help! Payment arrangements can be made. Please call Chris at
